This conveniently ignores the systemic issue of industrialization of the American food system. Read Austin Fririck's Barons. The problem is that antitrust laws haven't been enforced for years, under either Party. As a result small midwestern farmers and processing industry workers have become virtual serfs to agribusiness. Immigrant labor is just a small amount of the problem as agribusiness has made it impossible for rural residents to make a living. Let's go after the systemic root causes.
